Classic Albums: Metallica - Metallica

Muy a propósito de la cercana visita a México de Metallica, les comparto un excelente documental. A lo largo de estos 4 episodios podrán observar, casi en su totalidad, como fue elaborado el legendario "Álbum Negro" (el último episodio lo han borrado, pero prometo conseguirlo pronto).

El famoso disco, oficialmente nombrado "Metallica", vino a traerle madurez a la banda, y a darle un crecimiento que muy pocos se pueden jactar de tener. No me importa lo que se haya llegado a declarar acerca de que si el "Álbum Negro" comercializó a Metallica y lo lanzó a la fama convirtiendo a la banda en una "millonaria víctima" de aquellos supuestos fans, que no son más que borregos. No es para nada agradable ver "chotearse" a una gran banda, pero también es cierto que la cantidad de seguidores es un referente, pero para nada mide la calidad de un artista, es muy común ver en lo alto a bandas sobrevaloradas y viceversa. Después de todo sin importar el número de seguidores las sensaciones que te transmite una buena canción, o varias como en este caso, son de cada quien.

Deep Purple - Machine Head

Si fuera a prisión seguro me llevaría el "IV" de Led Zeppelin, el "Paranoid" de Sabbath y el sexto disco de Deep Purple "Machine Head" o en pocas palabras la santísima trinidad de el Hard Rock y el Heavy Metal. Siempre se les destacó por su rapidez y virtuosismo (no le piden nada a Zeppelin);

Era una constante competencia entre ver quién era más cerdo, una lucha de egos. El disco fue realizado en Suiza, en Moontreux, en un hotel, con el estudio móvil de los Stones, y producido por ellos mismos. 37:25 es lo que dura, compuesto por 7 canciones, la increíble y veloz "Highway Star", la bluesera "Maybe I`m a Leo", la metalera (influyó un buen a Judas y a Maiden) "Pictures of home", la rockera "Never Before", la canción que grabaron para terminar el disco después de haber visto a Zappa & the Mothers, donde Blackmore creó uno de los riff`s más famosos de todos los tiempos "Smoke on the Water", el super Blues rock con "Lazy", para cerrar con un super rock pesado con la increíble "Space Trukin". Velocidad, fuerza, intensidad, virtuosismo, variaciones, Deep Purple "Machine Head".
